Privacy policy
Scribatic collects nothing.
Your recordings, transcripts and notes are created and kept on your device. The app has no way to send them anywhere: they leave it only when you share them or save a backup.
Last updated 11 October 2026. Applies to the Scribatic apps for Android and iOS (com.scribatic.app), made by Byte Visions.
What stays on your device
- Audio recordings you make in the app, and recordings you import. Importing reads only the file you pick.
- Transcripts, produced on the device by speech models that run on its own processor.
- Speaker labels and names you give them. Telling voices apart happens on the device, and nothing about a voice is kept beyond the labels in each note.
- Summaries, search and answers from Scribatic Pro, written on the device by a model that runs on its own processor.
These are stored inside the app's private storage and are left out of the system's device and cloud backups. Deleting a recording or a note removes it from the device. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service and no server of ours that the app talks to. The Android app does not have the internet permission, and the iOS app makes no network requests of its own.
The microphone
The app asks for microphone access so it can record. The microphone is open only while you are recording, and the audio goes nowhere but the device.
Sharing
You can share a transcript, a PDF of it, or the recording. What you share is handed to the app you choose in the system share sheet, and that app sends it. A shared transcript or PDF includes the note's summary, if it has one. Sharing without speaker names leaves out the names and the summary. Nothing is shared unless you do it.
Backups
A backup holds your notes, their summaries and recordings. It is saved only where you choose: a folder on the device, or a cloud drive such as Google Drive or iCloud Drive. If you choose a cloud drive, that service stores the file under its own privacy policy. Every backup is encrypted with a passphrase you set, so only that passphrase opens it. We never receive your backups, and we cannot read one or recover a forgotten passphrase.
Model downloads
The speech models, and the summaries model for Scribatic Pro, are delivered by Google Play or the App Store, the same way the app itself is. Google and Apple handle those downloads under their own privacy policies; no request goes to us.
Buying Scribatic Pro
Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store. They tell the app only whether Pro is owned. We never see your payment details. Google and Apple report sales to us in their developer consoles, without your recordings or notes.
Information Google and Apple may give us
If you have agreed in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Google or Apple may show us aggregated statistics and crash reports in their developer consoles. They do not include your recordings or transcripts, and the app itself sends nothing.
Deleting your data
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete. Delete a recording or a note in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Backups you saved stay where you put them until you delete them there.
Children
Scribatic collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
